Modern geotechnical and marine engineering face unrelenting demands: aggressive groundwater chemistry, immense hydrostatic pressures, and aggressive marine environments that push conventional concrete to its limits. When building critical infrastructure like the Central-Wan Chai Bypass or enduring harsh subterranean extraction environments like Australian goldmines, standard mix designs often fall short against long-term water ingress, sulfate attack, and reinforcement corrosion.
A compelling case study review of six major international projects—including the Scenic Hill Tunnel, Mardie Jetty, the BHL Pipeline concrete chair, and Singapore mine tunnels—highlights how advanced Hydrophobic Pore-Blocking Ingredient (HPI) technology redefines structural durability.
