About the event

Synopsis:

MTR Corporation (hereafter MTR) strives to keep Hong Kong moving and support the city’s economic development through the design and construction of new railway projects, thus expanding its world-class railway network while connecting more and more communities across the territory with safe, environmentally friendly, affordable and accessible mass transit. Following the opening of the East Rail Line Cross-Harbour Extension on 15 May 2022, MTR continues to progress a number of projects under Railway Development Strategy 2014 (RDS2014). The Tung Chung Line Extension and Tuen Mun South Extension were gazetted in December 2021 and January 2022 respectively. MTR are progressing the planning and design of the new Kwu Tung Station on the East Rail Line, the 10.7km Northern Link and Hung Shui Kiu Station, and continue to work closely with The Government on other RDS 2014 projects, such as Oyster Bay Station / Siu Ho Wan Depot Redevelopment and Airport Railway Extended Overrun Tunnel. As MTR embarks on this new era of railway extension projects, this seminar provides the opportunity for the AGS (HK) members to get an appreciation of the portfolio of upcoming projects. The practitioners will obtain the first-hand information about the new railway projects including key project information, challenges and potential risks, and initiatives on application of digital and innovation by MTR. Apart from the upcoming projects, the practitioners will also learn about MTR’s digital strategy throughout the course of project delivery, from project management to planning and design and on-site application. .
