About the event

Synopsis

Satellite data have been publicly available since the early 1970s, but only recently have reached the resolution, repeatability, and cost to enable them to be used routinely in civil engineering application. Interferometric Synthetic Aperture Radar (InSAR) merits particular attention as a technique useful for identifying and monitoring movements of the ground and assets.

The speaker will share insights about InSAR and about how this satellite remote sensing technology has become a commodity in infrastructure monitoring worldwide. Several case studies will be presented and will focus on the use of SAR High-resolution data for risk reduction and maintenance monitoring.
